Alice Zoo is a photojournalistic and fine art photographer and graduate of Oxford University, studying Modern Languages. Now living in central London, Alice practises photography.
Photography is a medium made unique by accident: the photographer (at least in my personal praxis) is little more than the finger that presses the shutter.
My work combines the elements of chance and authenticity inherent to the situation in which I find myself with a camera. Often this produces photographs which I had no intention of making, and had not previously conceived. The feeling of being the conduit for this fleeting opportunity is the reason I continue to make pictures: I endeavour to fix such moments in the hope that they might hold significance to someone other than myself.
